Bees and Honey
Our farm we have two hives of Carniolan honey bees. The Carniolan normally will go into winter with a large cluster of bees. This helps keep the hive warm throughout the winter season. They are also known to be more aggressive protecting their hives, compared to the Italian bees.

While we are still new at beekeeping, we enjoy having the bees around to help pollenate our garden and flowers. We harvest the honey in the fall, and it's available for purchase. Visit the For Sale page to see what we have available.

One of the main bee pollen benefits that have been found by researchers is the benefit of reducing cholesterol. When bee pollen is taken as a food or supplement, it helps to bring levels of triglycerides and cholesterol back to normal within the body.
Good cholesterol is increased and bad cholesterol is actually decreased. As the bee pollen helps to lower cholesterol, lower cholesterol works to help reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes as well. This is an added benefit that you can enjoy when taking bee pollen on a regular basis.

Benefit 2 - Fights Cancer
Newer studies are even beginning to show that bee pollen can help fight off cancer, another of the bee pollen benefits.
In animals, studies were done in the past and the study showed that mice that were given the bee pollen did not develop mammary tumors, while 100% of those not given the pollen did develop these tumors. These studies definitely excited the medical community but further research was not done at the time.
Newer studies have been done on humans and how bee pollen affects cancer.
A recent study was done on women dealing with uterine cancer that was inoperable.
The 25 women in the study were treated with chemotherapy. Some of the women were given bee pollen and these women showed higher amounts of cancer fighting cells within their body. More red blood cells were also seen in the women that took the bee pollen.
Even the nausea from chemotherapy was reduced in the women that took the bee pollen.
While more studies are definitely needed to learn more about the bee pollen benefits for cancer, it does show some significant promise.

You'll also find that taking bee pollen can also help you to fight allergies. The pollen actually can help you to build up a resistance to allergy problems.
