2021 Spring Packages Bee Setup

We had a very hard late winter here in Iowa. Not one of my two hive survived. I feel defeated, but know it is still a learning experience. A very expensive $$ learning experience, but still a learning experience.

This year we will replace the two hives of Carniolan and I have set up a 3rd additional hive in a different location with Italians. I am using the leftover comb and honey frames from the prior year failed hives. This will help give them some warmth along with food and comb. I anticipate this is going to give all the hives a good jump start, and allow me to put the honey supers on sooner.
